Spencer Marsh - Only Medics UK

Spencer is currently Associate Director heading up the UK division of Only Medics.  

Spencer has 7 years of recruitment experience within the Pharmaceutical industry both in UK and EU markets. After graduating from University he joined a boutique executive search firm, specialising in recruiting senior level sales and marketing professionals into the pharmaceutical industry.

Spencer then moved to global executive search and RPO specialists Korn/Ferry Futurestep as a consultant within the Life Sciences practice, gaining extensive experience of senior level mandates in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries. Spencer joined Only Medics in 2009 as a Managing Consultant specialising exclusively in the recruitment of pharmaceutical physicians within medical affairs, clinical research and pharmacovigilance. 

James Cowley - Lead Consultant

James is currently the Lead Consultant for the EU side of Only Medics.  

James began his career in New York working for a British manufacturing business. After completing his BA Honours degree in History at the University of Manchester, James commenced his recruitment career with PSD Group (FTSE: OPD) conducting mid-level management searches and large scale IT recruitment projects for pharmaceutical and automotive organisations. After five years at PSD, James then joined a division of Korn/Ferry International (NYSE:KFY). At Korn/Ferry International James worked with major US software and IT services businesses helping them identify and attract key VP and director-level talent.

James then joined an Australian executive search firm, Talent Partners, in 2008 as a Principal Consultant responsible for increasing the Advanced Technology team’s presence in the UK and Europe. In 2011, James moved back into the pharmaceutical space with Only Medics. James has joined the business to deliver business-critical executive search assignments in central Europe. 

Toby Ferguson - Only Medics UK

Toby is currently a Consultant within the UK Division of Only Medics.

Toby has 4 years of recruitment industry experience and began his professional career in a graduate recruitment role for one of the UK’s fastest growing niche Finance recruitment firms, based in the Thames Valley. Whilst in this role he specialised in the recruitment of part-qualified accountancy professionals, quickly progressing in to a full Consultant’s position as part of a successful regional division. Toby joined Only Medics in 2009 and specialises exclusively in the recruitment of pharmaceutical physicians within medical affairs, clinical research and pharmacovigilance for roles based in the UK.

Dr Elaine Ford

A non-executive Director, Elaine Ford has more than 20 years pharmaceutical industry experience gained from roles in Clinical Development and Medical Affairs with leading pharmaceutical companies and CROs. 

Her last industry appointment was Head of Training (Europe & Pan America) with one of the top 3 pharmaceutical companies.  Elaine established only medics in 2005 and working with more than 90 client companies across the Pharmaceutical, CRO, Biotechnology and Regulatory sectors, confirmed only medics as the recruitment provider of choice for pharmaceutical physicians. Elaine is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a regular presenter and writer on pharmaceutical, management and recruitment topics.
