My client is a global market leader in the development of niche medicines.

Role:

You will work within the EU Pharmaceutical Medical Team reporting to the Global Vice President & General Manager. Working closely with the therapy area medical team your primary responsibilities will be:

- To provide leadership and development of the EU Therapy Area Medical team
- To ensure appropriate use and pharmacovigilance of medicines in marketed brands and development projects
- Responsibility for departmental budgets
- To flexibly utilise and develop the skills of the Therapy Area Medical team through the personal and professional development of all team members in collaboration with peers
- As a member of the Medical Lead Team, to have shared accountability for shaping directorate strategy and achieving the Medical Directorate vision and business objectives
- To work closely with aligned Marketing and Sales Director and wider EU Commercial teams.
- To work with Brand Team and Health Outcomes Research to influence positive market access
- To work closely personally, and through direct reports in the Clinical Research team, with UK/EU Clinical trials networks
- To attract and deliver significant clinical trials work to the UK /EU
- To provide leadership in meeting the requirements of the ABPI Code of Practice, all SOP’s and GCP guidelines and their implementation in a consistent manner
- Responsible for handling therapy area related media issues in the medical or lay press in conjunction with Corporate Affairs
- Significant liaison with external KOLs
- Direct line management responsibility.

Candidate:

- MD with significant post-qualification clinical experience
- Significant Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry experience in medical affairs and a solid understanding of the drug development process.
- Line management exposure, with strong leadership and people management skills
- Strong communicator and networker
- Outstanding Leadership, presentation, written and oral skills
- Ability to lead change
