An opportunity to join a pharmaceutical organisation known globally for their market leading products in pain, as well as a wider portfolio of drugs in respiratory, oncology and cardiovascular medicine. You will report to the Head of Medical Affairs and join an innovative passionate medical team based the organisation's central UK offices.

Role Description

A position for a pharmaceutical physician with excellent experience in medical affairs from within the pharmaceutical sector. You will have worked in a similar medical affairs position with exposure to the ABPI Code of Practice and experience of educating internal colleagues such as sales and marketing teams. In this role there is the opportunity to line manage members of the medical team, as well as work in strategic medico-marketing capacity. Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Provision of medical support across related marketed and pipeline products, primarily in a medico-marketing sense
- Strategically input into the brand planning process to ensure medical & scientific credibility
- Provide expert medical advice in support of product related clinical trial programmes
- Support European clinical project teams
- Provision of UK strategic input into European brand planning
- Interaction and communication with Key Opinion Leaders and clinical investigators
- Training of the sales force for medical & scientific all aspects of related therapy areas
- Interaction with the European R&D function, in relation to Phase IIIb and IV clinical trials

Candidate requirements

- You must have the right to work in the UK
- Fully GMC registered
- Medically qualified with significant post-qualification experience in the NHS or a similar setting
- Experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry is essential
- ABPI Final Signatory status (those close to achieving this can be considered)
- Eligibility for Higher Medical Training in Pharmaceutical Medicine is essential
- First-rate communication skills and experience of presenting
- A 'people person' who leads and develops others
- Drive and motivation to manage your own workload
