Medical Affairs Lead (Asia Pacific, Japan, Emerging Markets)

My client is a global market leader in the development of pharmaceutical medicines. Based in the Thames Valley they provide a challenging and pro-active working environment.

Role

•To work closely with marketing, communications, market access staff, APJEM networks in order to meet the overall objectives
•For designated assets/medicine; leadership and implementation on Phase IIIb / Phase IV clinical development strategy, Influencing MDC Phase III plans to the benefit of EU & APJEM
•For designated assets/medicines, leadership and planning of clinical registration trials in North Asia countries together the relevant project teams in MDC
•For designated assets/medicines, to review and ensure the proposals submitted by the LOCs are within the strategy and scientifically robust
•For designated assets/medicines, to represent and defend suitable CRT proposals at the EMAP&J executive committee KEG meeting
•Represent the interest of Neurosciences therapy area in the APJEM executive committee meeting
•For designated assets/medicines; bring critical insights to and support implementation of:Scientific communications plan, ,External Expert relationships & materials, Core claims document, Medicines Vision, CRTs
•For designated assets/medicines; bring critical insights to: promotional campaigns, market access & reimbursement plans
•For all scientific and promotional activities; to ensure compliance with relevant SOPs, regulations & Codes of Practice
•For designated assets/medicine; to take lead on patient safety issues in APJEM
•For designated assets/medicines; to take medical lead on crisis management and resolution in APJEM
•For designated assets/medicines; to work closely with relevant project teams & Regulatory teams as required
•To provide suitable “cover” for medical colleagues, and to work on non-asset/medicine products as determined by business needs and agreed by Medical Director
•To be proactive in self-development in technical and non-technical areas, as determined by business requirements & agreed in personal development plan (e.g. HMT for physicians)

•To organise regional satellite symposia and standalone meetings according to the congress plan for the year and to liaise closely with the speakers on logistics and the scientific content of the meeting

Candidate Requirements

•Industry Experienced physician or clinical scientist with relevant therapeutic area or APJEM expertise
•Medical Affairs experience with good understanding of campaign development and promotional “sign-off” processes
•Knowledge of GCP, and clinical development experience with ability to develop, design & implement Phase IIIb/IV studies
•Understanding of statutory drug safety requirements
•Culturally aware, with strong leadership, networking and communication skills
