Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company in the development of Oncology products across the globe is looking to recruit an experienced pharmaceutical physician as part of their UK medical affairs team. This role offers exposure to the international medical team, beyond affiliate responsibilities, and would allow the individual to lead a team beneath the UK Oncology Director.

Role:

The Associate Director will work alongside a number of colleagues in medical affairs, clinical development and commercial business units to manage an area of the UK oncology product line. The successful individual will have a number of line reports and will input into brand strategy and maximise the potential of the product area.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Review and approval of all related promotional materials
* Ensuring ethical guidelines are followed, and all product assessments are in line with the ABPI Code of Practice
* Directorship of the medical team for the assigned product line, including aspects of recruitment and performance management
* Build and maintain strong and commercially successful relationships with internal contacts within marketing, sales, regulatory, medical information and development units
* To support your teams wider contact with KOL networks and manage relationships where necessary
* Input into the overall oncology strategy for the UK, working alongside the Director for UK oncology
* To provide medical and/or scientific training to colleagues when required
* The production of strategy for clinical research teams, ensuring subsequent publications of appropriate clinical data are in line with expectations

Candidate Requirements:

- Fully GMC registered
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Oncology
- Experience in pharmaceutical medicine is essential, and medical affairs experience is preferred although a candidate with good experience in clinical development in pharma would also be relevant
- Achieved or close to achieving ABPI Signatory status
- Prior leadership experience is not essential, but a desire to manage and motivate is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Top rate presentation skills
- Pro-active in addressing issues and problems as they arise
