Medical Advisor / Senior Medical Advisor Job - Anti-infectives

A role with a well-known global pharmaceutical business to be office-based as part of their UK affiliate Virology medical team. Reporting to the Therapy Area Director you will have responsibility for leading medical and scientific all activities related to marketed products in the area of anti-infectives. As the therapy area specialist medic you will have the following duties:

• Contribute to the product’s medical strategy consistent with business unit plans.
• Provide excellent medical advice to business units and other colleagues.
• Provide proactive, ethical support for all medical marketing activities (e.g. congresses, medical education, data/publication review, marketing campaigns, advisory boards, developing publications).
• Contribute to high quality marketing materials and other copy, facilitating sign-off, leading to becoming approved signatory
• Devise and implement post-launch trials, and support investigator led studies to improve the clinical and commercial impact of existing products and KOL relationships.
• Ensure close collaboration with colleagues in medical affairs and clinical development in the EU to ensure the optimal UK marketing platform.
• Make presentations at conferences and other relevant meetings, which will enhance the companies overall reputation.
• Liaise externally with key opinion leaders and national bodies (customer facing position)
• Contribute actively to process improvement initiatives.
• Manage any budget (budget size to be determined) so that it is used as effectively as possible to create the best possible outcome for the company.
• To comply with all UK regulatory guidelines and company SOPs in relation to the current ABPI Code of Practice, MHRA and all other authorities related to this position.

Candidate
- Fully GMC registered (or eligibility to obtain if non-UK based)
- Medically qualified
- Either experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry or a therapeutic expert in the field of anti-infectives, mircobiology, virology and/or anti-fungals
- An understanding of the ABPI code of practice
- Commercially aware and leadership potential
- First rate communication skills
- Team-player who is proactive and also able to work individually under pressure
