European Head of Medical Affairs

My client is a biopharmaceutical organisation regarded as a leader in its therapeutic area that is about to embark on a major growth phase. The catalyst for this growth comes from a) the results of two successful late-stage clinical trials and b) a major commercialisation agreement with a global pharmaceutical major. As a crucial part of the expansion strategy, my client is now looking to hire a European Head of Medical Affairs.

The Role:

- Manage and grow a team of Medical Affairs Advisors across different EU countries
- Work closely with commercialisation partner to drive Medical Affairs best practice and growth in the business
- Responsible for direct interaction with investigators, KOLs and the research community to support company initiatives
- Responsible for representing our client at scientific, clinical and business development meetings
- Direct medical writing activities associated with Medical Affairs to ensure accurate execution of product dossiers, product related slide decks, standard response letters, FAQs as well as corporate abstracts, posters, oral presentation and manuscripts when appropriate.
- Promote effective communication between internal and external groups regarding Medical Affairs initiatives
- Serve as medical and technical resource for clinical issues raised by internal and external collaborators, investigators, consultants and contract resources

The Individual:

- Significant experience operating in a leadership role within a Medical Affairs environment
- Previous experience of working in a regional / European role
- Experience of working closely with development / commercialisation partners
- Demonstrable track record of building / growing Medical Affairs teams
- You will be a physician / MD
- You will speak fluent English and have worked in the EU before
