Senior Lead Pharmacovigilance Physician Job

POSITION SUMMARY
As Senior Lead Pharmacovigilance Physician you will be responsible for the medical evaluation of defined local (regional) adverse event reports, providing guidance and participating in follow-up efforts of adverse events as needed. They will also be required to participate in the review of aggregate reports with respect to process and signal detection and appropriately communicate any safety issues stemming from such review activities.
Senior technical leadership will be demonstrated by full participation in matrix management activities including participation in evaluating safety issues and preparation of aggregate reports, interpretation of surveillance and product quality data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be responsible for:-
- Managing and providing leadership to a group of Pharmacovigilance Physicians within the therapeutic areas: oncology and internal medicine.
- Assigning workflow as appropriate to assure compliance with regulatory reporting timelines in addition to evaluating and identifying training needs.
- Medical expertise will be reflected in activities such as participating in cross-functional projects (SOP committees, taskforces, work streams etc) and representing companys positions, processes and guidance's to external business partners.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical degree from a recognized institution is essential.
- Significant combined medical post-graduate training and clinical experience required.
- An unrestricted medical license, registration or equivalent is required in addition to experience in pharmacovigilance with demonstrated understanding of Investigational and marketed product safety.
Sound knowledge of general medicine and clinical practice, and the ability to assess the clinical relevance of medical data and to interpret its clinical meaning is essential.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment is also necessary.
